A Life-Changing Experience: My Summer Analyst Program Journey

Robert Tseng, an undergraduate at National Chiao Tung University, is also the only finalist in Kronos’s Summer Analyst Program.

Before joining the Summer Analyst Program, my interest in quantitative trading was just beginning, and I had limited exposure to the field. I had been looking forward to the opportunity to join Kronos Research, recognised as one of the world’s top quant trading firms. Being accepted into this program was indeed an honour and an incredible opportunity for me.

Throughout the program, I learned to develop and validate my ideas through practical exploration systematically. My mentors were supportive and generous in sharing their knowledge, helping me grow from a novice to someone who knows how to conduct research independently. With their guidance, I began writing and validating my alpha strategies, which deepened my understanding of data analysis and model building.

This experience has significantly broadened my perspective, enhanced my professional skills, and underscored the importance of teamwork and support. I’m excited to apply these lessons in my future studies and career.

I am honoured to be the only candidate to receive a full-time role as a Quantitative Researcher after this Summer Analyst Program, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to attend TOKEN2049 with the Kronos team. The experience was enriching, especially on my first day, when I had dinner with CTA traders and business development colleagues, leading to insightful discussions.

At the TOKEN2049 networking event organised by the company, I had a chance to be connected with professionals from various sectors, broadening my understanding of the blockchain industry. The following day was vibrant, featuring innovative projects and a keynote speech from Vitalik that inspired deeper reflections on the future of blockchain.

I sincerely thank the company for this invaluable opportunity. The knowledge and connections I've gained have significantly contributed to my growth. I hope to inspire more students to participate in future Summer Analyst Programs and look forward to contributing to the company and the industry with improved trading strategies.
