Kronos Research is closely watching the developments of virtual assets-related projects in Asia as it joins the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023, which will discuss key industry issues, including Web3 technology, blockchain-powered financial infrastructure, leading-edge Web3 applications, and the changes in global regulations. Kronos Research was selected as a partner by Liquidity Tech Protocol (LTP) to host the first-of-its-kind Liquidity Summit 2023, which will feature a roster of industry leaders, top trading institutions, digital currency asset banks, exchanges, custodians, investment banks, and regulators.

This year’s meeting, themed “Rebuilding Trust and Improving Security for a Better Future,” will tackle cutting-edge trends and vision for the future of the digital asset field, from the perspective of institutional traders.

“We are thrilled to bring together some of the brightest minds and top institutions in the digital asset industry for Liquidity Summit 2023. With a focus on rebuilding trust and improving security, this year’s summit will foster community building. This year we are happy to have Kronos Research on board. We look forward to promoting the growth of the digital asset ecosystem, for a better future for all,” said Jack Yang, CEO of LTP.

“The Liquidity Summit, the first of its kind, will draw key institutions in the digital asset industry from different parts of the world. This highlights the industry’s rapid growth and strong appetite among key players in this region. It is an honor to partner with LTP in leading the discussions on the most important issues that would allow for deeper market liquidity,” said Mark Pimentel, Co-founder of Kronos Research.

Kronos Ventures, the venture arm of Kronos Research, said the firm is seeing an increase in higher-quality protocols with lower valuations amid the current bear markets. “The benefit of a bear market is weeding out a lot of opportunistic founders. We plan to raise funds for those founders of especially strong projects, who are waiting to build through the bear market as they are not here just to make a quick buck,” the company said in a separate statement. Kronos Research is a multi-strategy trading firm specializing in market making, arbitrage, CTA, and high-frequency trading (HFT), averaging $5–10 billion of daily trading volume on global cryptocurrency exchanges.

Hong Kong Web3 Festival is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants, 300 industry speakers, and 100 Web3-related projects. The event, the biggest of its kind in Asia, is aimed at the city’s high-profile push to become a hub for digital assets as it ushers a more welcoming regulatory regime for exchanges and legalizing crypto trading for retail investors. The festival will be held alongside the inaugural “Business of Innovation and Technology Week,” with InnoEX, HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (spring edition), the Digital Economy Summit, and HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (spring edition) as core programs.
